From 6 to 28 June 2026, Area Arte Vallebona hosts Fluid Structures, a retrospective of Alfred Thum featuring works by Alfred and Johannes Thum, curated by the Sergio Gagliolo Archive.
The exhibition is conceived as a tribute to Alfred Thum, a German artist who spent the last thirty years of his life in Liguria, through a journey bringing together paintings, photographs, photo collages and sculptures created throughout his artistic career.
Alongside his works, visitors can discover those of his son Johannes, in an intergenerational dialogue that highlights shared affinities, influences and artistic sensibilities. A journey through forms, structures and different visual languages, exploring the relationship between memory, artistic research and transformation.
