Visitor guide

Vallebona has an extraordinary historic center, designed to amaze anyone who ventures into it. It's a succession of corners and squares where the light of day or the darkness of the evening impose a continuous change of perspective.

To discover it, you can start from the large square, the terminus for cars and public transport, and enter the charming medieval village through the sixteenth-century Porta della Madonna; as you climb along the narrow alleys, you will find the Piazza dei 4 Elementi and you will be able to enjoy a magnificent panorama of the valley with Sasso, the iconic little house with the cypress tree, and the sea of Bordighera

The square, dominated by the thirteenth-century stone tower, extends to the Parish Church and the loggia that houses the medieval tithes. Walking through Via Scudier, a passage that also leads to the countryside, you'll encounter the Fontana Vecchia, and continuing to climb along Via Guglielmi, which is the ancient long alley, you can admire old commercial signs and well-preserved houses.

After passing by Vico Forno and Vico Montebello, you turn into Via Garibaldi, where narrow and dark passages coexist with bright and colorful facades. From here, several suggestive passages converge in se u cantu before arriving downhill on Piazza Nicola Rossi, "in nu ciassà", once the heart of the village for various commercial activities.

From this vantage point, you can notice the new bell tower in all its grandeur, the square of the oratory, and the wide staircase that leads back to the church square. Crossing the passage of the new and surprising Loggia dell'Aria, you can extend the itinerary to discover the millstones of the ancient oil mill and the small gardens dominated by three large "fir trees".

For information and assistance, you can always refer to the IAT in Piazza XX Settembre. If you are eager to venture outside the village into nature, the Passeggiata dei due Ponti will lead you to discover ancient rural paths and unique views like Vecchie Fontane or ruined forges. Enjoy your time in Vallebona.
