Luca Falomi – guitar, chromatic harmonica

"Esperanto" was born from an idea by Luca Falomi, a young and eclectic acoustic guitarist and composer, and from his collaboration with Riccardo Barbera, a multifaceted and creative double bass player and composer. The name of the project is inspired by the international language created in the late 1800s: an attempt to foster dialogue among peoples, aiming to build understanding and peace through a second, simple and expressive language that belongs to all humanity, not to a single nation.
The artistic connection between Falomi and Barbera – both sensitive composers deeply interested in sound exploration and musical contaminations – has led them to collaborate on each other's albums ("Sober" by Luca Falomi and "Aymara" by Riccardo Barbera, both released by the label "Old Mill Records") and to compose original material together, the result of a shared musical vision, similar artistic experiences, and a natural synergy. Completing the ensemble is Rodolfo Cervetto, a drummer of rare sensitivity and creativity, immediately in tune with the spirit of the project.
The trio’s language – joined on this occasion by Achille Succi, known for his mastery of the bass clarinet and alto saxophone, and considered one of the most influential and innovative musicians on the contemporary jazz scene in Italy and Europe – is an original instrumental music where, like in the Esperanto language, different idioms meet: from jazz to world music, passing through experimental and avant-garde sounds. Melody and improvisation find space within compositions that break clichés and synthesize new sonic vocabularies and musical worlds.
"Esperanto live" is a compelling show, characterized by strong interaction among musicians, engaging and emotional, where original compositions alternate with reinterpretations of iconic pieces from the international instrumental repertoire.
A journey beyond space, place, and time – capable of taking the listener by the hand and leading them to explore new worlds and sounds.
The third edition of "Jazz in Valle" continues its musical journey in search of new sounds, offering the passionate audience – who have followed us since 2023 – outstanding concerts by top-level Italian ensembles. Three nights, four groups, the Oratory façade as the backdrop… let the 2025 edition begin!
